Description

Name: Belmont Queenie
Sire: Barnahill Goalkeeper
Dam: Lee Hall Belmont Bloom
Sex: Mare
Breed: Clydesdale
Born: May 1992

Although not a show horse, Bonnie has a major part to play in the
success of Cotebrook Shire Stud. We spotted her in a dealers yard on the way to the knacker's yard in October 1997 and rescued her from
certain death by paying the princely sum of £250 for her. Alistair could see that she had potential as a brood mare and thus began the laborious task of tracing her pedigree by circulating her photo and searching old show catalogues until we discovered she had been bred by Dundee District Council.

She had her first foal by Charlie in 1999 , born in a ditch full of
water! This was Cotebrook Loch Maree who went on to be the 2004 Female National Champion and the most successful female this century!

Bonnie is also the mother of Cotebrook Blaven, who has only been beaten in the showring twice in his long show career, and was the 2008 Reserve National Champion.
Bonnie has been a regular breeder at Cotebrook, she is the mother of Maree, Blaven, Charlies Angel, and most recently Torridon. Unfortunately, Bonnie is coming to the end of her breeding life and was barren for 2009 and 2010 but in foal again to Moorfield Ted due in January 2011.
